Commissioned by Pennsylvania State University, Berks County

In designing “Rolling Wave,” King was inspired by the magnificent natural beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside with the elevations and depressions, the hills and ravines against the dramatic big sky that characterize the landscape. The amorphous shape of the sculpture echoes patterns found in nature, but interpreted with a modern high tech aesthetic to evoke digital matter frozen in space.
