Commissioned by Florida Art in State Buildings

The vesica-shaped Synapse is composed of two intertwined spiral ribbons of glass elements -- one convex and one concave -- to capture the light at complex angles. The dazzling sculpture’s glass facets are laminated with holographic film and attached to a stainless steel aviation cable skeleton. Illuminated at night, the tubes of the skeleton reflect the patterns of the structure.
